Breath Medicine Retreat

May 18-21, 2026

Gumbaynggirr Country - Nambucca Valley, NSW

This four-day retreat offers an immersion into Breath Medicine - a relational, embodied practice that approaches breath as intelligence rather than method.

Held on Gumbaynggirr Country in the Nambucca Valley NSW, the retreat begins by arriving to the land, to the body, and to the shared relational field. Breath Medicine is practiced as listening rather than effort, allowing breath to reveal patterns of regulation, protection, and presence as they unfold.

Retreat Flow

  • Establishing relationship with land, body, and each other

We begin by acknowledging the land and orienting to place. Through circle and shared breath, the group field is formed and intentions are named. This day establishes the relational and somatic foundations that support the retreat.

  • Day two moves into direct experience. Participants engage in Breath Medicine journeys supported by the presence of the group. Each person both breathes and witnesses - sensing breath from within, and learning how to remain present with another without directing or influencing their process.

  • Allowing experience to settle and organise

The third day invites integration. Breath and group practices support the body to digest what has been experienced, without pushing toward outcomes. Attention is given to regulation, coherence, and the natural pacing of the nervous system.

  • Carrying Breath Medicine forward

The retreat closes with a shared breath and circle, supporting completion and transition. Participants leave with an embodied relationship to breath - one that can continue to inform daily life, self-trust, and regulation.

No prior breathwork experience is required.

All practices are held within Breath Medicine principles of choice, consent, autonomy, relational safety, and self-responsibility.

Who This Retreat Is For

This retreat is for people who feel drawn to explore breath as a relational and embodied practice, rather than something to master or perform.

It may be well suited if you are:

  • Curious about how breath relates to regulation, emotion, and lived experience

  • Interested in somatic or body-based approaches to awareness and integration

  • Seeking a practice that honours choice, autonomy, and self-responsibility

  • Open to experiencing a wide range of inner states, including moments of expansion, insight, or extended states of awareness

  • Wanting space to explore breath both personally and in relationship with others

Expanded states may arise for some participants, while others may experience more subtle shifts. All experiences are held within a framework of consent, self-pacing, and grounded integration.
