Fire and Air - Imbil, Sunshine Coast Queensland May 8-9 2026

What This Journey Is About

Fire and Air is an exploration of expanded states of consciousness for insight and healing, that weaves together both traditional and modern knowledge systems.

It is a collaboration between Breath Medicine and Mathew Manwaring. Participants will journey with breath to prepare for a Temazcal Sweat Lodge, and close with a final Breath Medicine journey to integrate and close the container.

Held on the land in Imbil, this is a space for reverence, connection, and embodied transformation.

The Flow

Friday — Opening & Descent

Begins Friday afternoon 4-8

We open in circle, co-held by Breath Medicine and Integrating Spirit, setting shared agreements and intentions for the weekend.

From there, we move into our first Breath Medicine journey together, which will support participants to begin to settle into the space and open at the pace that feels safe and right for them.

The evening closes with a nourishing dinner together, as we continue to build connection and safety as a group.

Saturday — Fire, Earth & Integration

Morning Sweat Lodge 8-12

On Saturday morning we enter the lodge, held by Mat Manwaring. Mat trained to hold Temazcal in Mexico, and his approach carries full respect for the tradition and his teachers — while meeting the context of modern Australia.

The lodge is a place of release, deep listening, and connection to something older than any of us.

Light Lunch 12-1

Simple, grounding nourishment.

Afternoon Integrative Breath Session & Closing Circle 1-4:30

We return to breath for a closing session centred on integration. This is the space to let the weekend land — to feel what's moved and let it weave into the body before we close the container and part ways.

Who This Is For

People feeling called to sit in ceremony and explore expanded states with proper support and grounding. Those curious about what breath and fire can move in them — and who want to do that work in a safe container, with community, on the land.

Facilitators

The journey will be facilitated by Trudi Hayes, Shannon London & Scott Edwards from Breath Medicine and Mat Manwaring.

Preparation & Safety

We request that all participants complete a Breath Medicine intake form before the journey.

We also request that all participants review the following document: Preparing to Journey with Breath if you have not participated in a Breath Medicine journey before.

If you have any medical or mental health conditions that may affect your experience, we will reach out in the lead up to discuss these with you.
